Replaced a taller stove by a different company, but with the same concept. I like this one much better: long and low, MUCH easier to feed twigs into -- even large ones -- much more stable for my billy pot. And it drafts exceptionally well. Even the slightest breeze turns it into a small-scale furnace. I've only fired it up a few times, and cooked on it so far only once. But all those times were easy (I'm an experienced fire builder). So far, in good weather, with dry wood, I can have a set of cooking coals going within 10 minutes. Once that happens, I can boil a liter of water a bit faster than I used to with white gas in a backpacking stove. Another plus: a load of wood lasts a LONG time, unlike my previous one that required nearly constant attention. Plus, after cooking is done, I can keep this puppy going until it's time to hit the hammock for sleep. It's like sitting in front of a mini-wood stove: lots of heat even on a chilly night.
