Side by side it doesn't put out much light but if used for some extra lighting for the 'bits' that need more light without much heat then yea why not it seems to work fine. I have my so it lights one third of my tomato plant as it wasn't getting enough light and this has given that side more of a purple hue. I will update if I see any extraordinary growth or no difference to the side it's pointing at. I'll use this for a seeding light in the future too. Update the actual wattage is around 9/10 watt, the led board is rated for 40watt but it's being under driven by the cheapo driver they use. I added a 50w driver and a heatsink and fan to cool it and get the 40watts. Tbh it was working somewhat well just one the 10watt but I had the parts needed to beef it up lol. The more eagle eyed review reader will see that the fan and heatsink is from a Xbox 360 ;) better at cooling my LEDs than it did the Xbox GPU! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perect *by P*** on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 November 2018* Was using 2 led lamps for my plants that was fine until I came across these lights and for the price WoW!!!So since they work so well i intend to get my brother one.Oh Delivery was fast efficient and well packaged.UPDATE: Well been running this puppy since I got it on an 18/6 and no issues what so ever still purring.Last couple weeks thought I would try it at 20hrs on 4hrs off and again running great plants love it and only pulls 65w off wall lol saves so much great product compared to others this is TOP product well done.. ### ⭐⭐ Good timer, very poor output of light. *by M***G on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 January 2019* They work and the timer is good. However the amount of light is really poor, it won’t help anything grow, I used mine on the window sill, for a slight boost of light as it’s winter and there’s not a lot of sunlight. These have had no effect at all as far as I can tell. You can comfortably look directly at the lights when they are on, basically they are those LED strips inside.
