Ideal for freshwater aquarium and planted tank Quick Set After out of the box and plugged in, the light turns on in auto cycle. You can alter the time for the daylight and moonlight cycles. Then place it on top of your aquarium and leave it. The light runs automatically by default setting. However, if you find 6:30 am lights on is too early, you can change time and moonlight preset light color. For details, please see the user manual. STANDARD MODE DAY & MOONLIGHT CYCLE At default auto cycle, you can use daylight and moonlight option to create your own custom 24 hours light cycle, altering auto on /off time, adjusting light color for moonlight option. Preset lighting auto turns on at 6:30 AM and auto turn off at 11:30 PM. The light can be set to turn on and off at the designated time which allows your fish get some rest at night. Daylight light color: 100% white full spectrum light. You cannot choose colors or brightness. Moonlight preset color: 100% blue. You can alter lighting color. It is available in blue, red, green, cyan, yellow and purple. NOTE Restore Factory Default Settings: press up and down button at the same time until " SOP " shows up, unplug the adapter jack. Light will restore to factory default setting and auto turn on at 6:30 am. DIY MODE DIY CYCLE In ‘DIY mode’, you can use eight time slots to create your own custom 24-hour light cycle, adjusting ‘on/off’ and light intensity for each slot. DIY mode L1-L6 slots are full spectrum, while L7 and L8 slots are blue light . You cannot choose colors, you can only alter the brightness at certain time periods. In order to use DIY mode, the auto cycle must be turned off. To keep a specific time range light out, just set the brightness into 00. MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS BRIGHTNESS Totally 10 levels of brightness for your option: 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% and 100%. Create the best brightness for your plants and fish. Just removed the old light and it was a direct fit with the new LED light. Now I have a great looking older hood with a lower profile look. After only a week of use, my plants are already showing drastic new growth. Out of the box, it defaults to the sun up to sun down timer function, where it starts out dim and grows to a full noon sunlight, and then ramps down to sun down. You just have to set your local time. Very natural for the fish and plants. Instructions included are terrible if you want to customize it. HOWEVER, send the seller a message about the bad manual, and they will send you a functional, English speaking fantastic manual via email. Quite happy. Purchase after purchase, I am pleased with Hygger products.

**Q: Can you set the color and intensity of the daylight light when running it off the timer ?**
A: Daylight color is fixed full spectrum light. Neither color nor intensity can be programmed. However you can set DIY mode to change color or intensity.

**Q: With the brackets on, will it fit a 30" tank exactly?**
A: Make sure u get the right size for that measurement, they fit a range and are adjustable. I have a 10gallon tank

**Q: What size light for a 20 gallon tank not loog neither**
A: For my 20 gallon tall aquarium the best fit was a 24" to 30". It fit the aquarium without extending the brackets and covered the entire tank. I didn't have a cover on my aquarium, didn't have any jumpers in there, so I don't know how it will fit with your cover.

**Q: Can this light be placed directly on top of the aquariim glass with the stand removed?**
A: Yes, it can be placed on top of aquarim after removed the stand. However, we do not suggest to do that. Thanks.

I like the light & the various options for color. However it is really difficult to set it to a programed setting. I managed eventually but then had a very brief power outage & now I'm having trouble programming it again.
