This is now March 2021. The color and the texture were as new butter, but the taste was noticeably degraded. I couldn’t eat it. I have a new stock that I now keep in the refrigerator. I opened one of the new cans and the taste was perfect. The 2014 can had been kept in my kitchen so it never got hot or cold. Personally, I plan to rotate this product every three years. I recommend you keep your product in the refrigerator. **Q: Outdated cans?** A: The butter is supposed to be ok in the cans for as long as 10 years, I would be very surprised that you bought outdated product from Amazon. They are pretty strict about expiration dates. I have cans that have been in my pantry at least 2 years and I plan on eating the butter **Q: when was this produced? are we getting fresh cans?** A: All I can see on the can is a production code: "DW 02". There is no other date-code or production date, nor "use by" date on the cans that I received. Butter from the one can we opened was good, appeared fresh, and tasted on a par with butter we had gotten from an Amish store in Oklahoma; but in a can.
