I do seem to recall when there was limited testing directly on animals, the animals were agitated but nothing more. **Q: why does it say that the packaging may vary? this makes me suspicious of what is actually in the pods.** A: The packing has is a little lose enough so the packing doesn’t get popped. **Q: How long can the product be used?** A: For as long as you have the product it doesn't go bad as long as you keep the tide pods in the container. I use them all the time in my wash as well as the liquid detergent.
