For a garage, we recommend placing the unit on the side of the garage that is facing the house. We ordered this heater to replace our other name brand heater which was almost twice as expensive. The AirNmore heater looks very nice, provides great supplemental heat and runs very quietly. It would be nice if the remote would show the temperature, i.e. 70 degrees, but after playing with it, we figured it out so it is not a problem. After all, our other name brand heater did not show the temperature either.
