We keep it in a large tin, and refill a smaller container for pouring. But get one that's a little smaller than the size of the bags you usually buy (unless you use 5 pounds or less). That way it won't get stale from the constant opening and closing. If you DO use large sized bags of kibble, store what doesn't fit as the gentleman said: push as much air out as possible and use a clip to keep the bag shut (so it doesn't open up on its own), then store it in a cool dark place...a basement or closet that's not often used, until it's time to refill. And never pour new fresh kibble on the little bit that's left in the container. Keep a scoop in the container and wait to refill until there's no more than the scoop can hold. Pour the older food into the scoop and the fresh kibble into the plastic bin. Then either use what's in the scoop ASAP or pour the contents on top of the fresh stuff so it gets used first.
