It's auto-shutoff worked quite well also. The problem is that after a couple of weeks, I somehow managed to crack the glass covering the top. Probably put my cup down too hard or something. I didn't realize it when it happened, just noticed that it was broken (break started from the right-hand middle of the warmer on the edge and spidered onto the rest of the warmer). My husband hadn't managed to break his, so he let me use the one I got for him. I broke that one within 2 days (in the same place). So, there is apparently something I am doing wrong, obviously, but I would have thought that glass would be able to take a little more abuse than what it was given before breaking. Regardless, I am now looking for a replacement that doesn't have a glass top. ### ⭐ An interesting device, but poor execution. *by F***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2019* I gifted this for Christmas and my uncle absolutely loved it, but it cracked in under a week’s worth of very casual usage. Maybe 3-4 times at max. A mug was placed on it to warm and it immediately spidered out.Part of me thinks this has to do with how hot the device gets. Scalding to the touch, easy. I’m sure the hot-cold cycling would crack the glass easily if it wasn’t tempered for such extremes.It’s terrible that my present ended up being garbage so quickly, though. I left a warm mug of coffee on this plate and it took nearly 1+ hour to bring it back to the same temperature.
