They're sturdy, easy to clean in the dishwasher, and after a minute on the counter, the soup cubes popped out. I put the frozen blocks in a ziploc bag, and voila, someone who wants one portion of soup can thaw it out quickly. I may buy the 2 cup size, too. But it's nice to have the individual portions so you don't have to wait so long for something to thaw and be eaten.
