As noted, output can be inconsistent in gusty winds, and you really need to be honest with yourself about how much wind is blowing at the mounting location vs. the treetops. I don't get as much as I hoped for, but on very windy nights, my overnight battery voltage drop is noticably less than it was before I installed it. Then the generator, I didn’t notice any different in the batteries even with 15/20 knots consistently. So I ordered a mater.. hooked it up and shows it makes nothing, yet the controller is blinking away saying it is charging.. What a POS! I have installed many wind generators, but this thing is a waste of anyone’s times. Mine arrived looking like it had already been used and was missing some bolts, etc. The vendor went to great lengths to avoid the return of the unit, and finally offered a 50% refund if I kept it. However, after setting it up and documenting results for over a month, it has never succeeded in charging a 12 volt battery, even in high winds. Live and learn. **Q: Is a rectifier built in to change ac to dc? item description says 3 phase ac pmg which would require a rectifier.** A: Yes there is a rectifier that comes with it and it changes the 3 phase AC to direct current. + and -. **Q: Can the Blades be installed backwards affecting the output?^** A: The blades must all face the same way as they rotate past the same point. The turbines put out the same power whichever direction the blades are set up to rotate. Don't expect much power at under 35 MPH winds. though. At 25 MPH mine won't reach 12 volts with a 1 amp load on it. There isn't enough surface area on the blades and not enough windings in the alternator. That's my experience. Try turning the alternator with a variable speed drill. You'll need 300+ RPM to get any power. At 25 MPH winds, both mine turn at about 120 RPM, which will just barely light a car turn signal bulb. **Q: recently they updated these models too operate under lower wind speeds and produce the desired output rating. if ordered will i receive those blades??** A: we recently purchased this and received the blades pictured.
