It is slightly heavier than my previous kettle. but I rarely fill it completely,, so this isn't an issue and I'd rather have a more solid, rather than flimsy, kettle. I like the 'ping' that it gives when it's finished boiling. It looks real stylish and I would definitely recommend this product. In fact we like it so much that I recently bought another Sage kettle in a different finish for my son.
