Take a really good nail file and run it 3-4 times over it (as you should always do with this type of tip) so that the slip on the writing area is really smooth. Can absorb a suitable amount of ink to create the desired lines. Ideal set for comic beginners, ideal for filigree design work. Review: Really comfortable to hold and they take hunt 102 crow quill nibs. - I was taking a gamble that hunt crow quill nibs will fit these. I'm happy to report that they do. Really chunky and comfortable to hold for people with big hands. I find it difficult to use the official speedball 102 holders as they're tiny. The holders seem pretty well built but won't really know until I've used them a while. It's nice to be able to use the same type holder for all types of nibs types now that I've a comfortable one.
