I read about the benefits of matrixyl and wanted to add it to boost collagen production and plump up my skin. I swapped this out for my usual glycolic cream about five weeks ago and I am already seeing improvement, especially in the skin along my jawline and around my eyes. As a mid-50s woman, my jawline is softening in a way that bothers me, but this cream is restoring a tighter, more youthful look. It's also effective at targeting the smile lines around my eyes. I'm also using this on my decollette and it's really improving the look of my crepe-y, sun-damaged skin on my chest.The cream is rich, but not heavy; it absorbs quickly with no white residue. It goes on smooth and easy, more like a water-based serum than a heavy, oily cream. A little goes a long way; I use a dime-sized dab for my entire face, neck, and chest. I dot it on my forehead, cheeks, chin, neck, and chest and then lightly massage it in. It has an unusual fragrance; it's not unpleasant, but it's definitely not what you'd associate with most scented skincare products. I suspect it's the natural smell of the formulation with no additional perfumes. It took a bit of getting used to, but it's not something that keeps me from using this daily. I also use a 30% glycolic acid peel as maintenance every week or two for deeper exfoliation. So far, this cream is performing much better overall than my previous glycolic acid cream, so I would say adding matrixyl is smart if you want to improve the look and feel of mature skin.
