**Q: What does nac taste like?  what are ways i can use or disguise nac to be consumed as a food or drink?**
A: We mix it with other things so not sure if we are even tasting it. It smells like a mixture on rotten eggs and vinegar not mixed with anything. We mix it in a smoothie that has fruit so it is pretty disguised. The fruits that have the most masking tendencies are strawberries and pineapple. We put 2 cups of various fruit on our smoothie that makes 4 servings. We also use fennel, kale, cucumber, ginger and turmeric...there is a lot of flavor masking going on ;) Hope this helps...The NAC is so important especially if you are battling any kind of auto-immune disease!

I am very satisfied with the quality and effectiveness of this NAC. Previously I had taken Solgar brand. I bought this because I wanted an option with no fillers and I was opening the Solgar capsules anyway so I could take a lesser dose. The powder is tart. I can take it with my tongue off the palm of my hand in small amounts, or encapsulate it as I have done recently. I take it on an empty stomach before dinner and it aids my sleep. Specifically, it quiets excessive thinking. Reduces nervous picking/scratching at skin also. It would be best taken twice a day 12 hours apart, because the effectiveness only lasts that long, but I only take it once right now. It does chelate minerals out of the body, so don't take more than you need to achieve the desired result and keep an eye on your minerals such as zinc, manganese, etc. 5-25-15 Update: I am still enjoying the benefits of this. Occasionally I'll take a second dose in the morning if my brain seems to need a little help. I forgot to take one night and had a terrible time trying to sleep, so I'll definitely continue to take. Another reason I continue to take NAC is that it helps tear down biofilms in the gut. Biofilms are formed by Candida Albicans and other microorganisms to protect themselves from your body's defenses and medicines that would harm them. If you are battling fungal infections or Lyme, you will need to focus on removing these slimy shelters from the lining of your intestines first, before you can really make an impact with other anti-microbial approaches, including prescriptions. InterFase and Biofilm Defense are two other products I've found to be helpful for this. And diatomaceous earth is invaluable. Back to NAC: Method of taking I'm finding convenient as long as I'm home before dinner is stirring a generous quarter-teaspoon of it into a glass of water. If I'm out, I'll take one of my home-made capsules.
