You are mostly paying for the product testing and the no-doubt interminable bureaucracy the manufacturer has suffered, more than the physical product. But it is worth it to have an effective option for car rides. More portable than e.g. an inflatable booster seat. The child thinks it is super cool (that might wear off, not sure).There are two versions, the GEN2 has a crotch strap and anchor strap, and is probably an even safer option if you are using it in your own car. If you are jumping into someone else's car then this GEN3 just needs the seat belt strap correctly routed so is much easier/faster. The information and videos on the manufacturer website is solid and practical with a minimum of marketing B.S. The product is called 'Ride Safer' and not 'Ride Safe' hyperbole like it was some form of magic - I appreciate that. ### ⭐ I don't even recommend *by R***4 on December 19, 2016* Not so safe, I don't even recommend it ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great alternative to a traditional car seat *by J***R on June 7, 2016* We love this travel vest. We purchased it for our 4 year old after we saw other daycare parents using it on field trip days. We not only use it on those days, but when we travel (by plane), or when others are going to take him in their car. It is 10 times easier than having to lug around a car seat and I know it puts other who don't install a car seat regularly (grandparents), at ease. Our son loves it, too, and enjoys wearing it.
