Review: The sound you hear out of HD-25 is the sound you get! - HD 25 are the best sounding , very neutral and flat sounding headphones best for djs and music production HD 25 sound is not pre-coloured like those of Sony,Philips and other low budget headphones. (Pre-coloured sound means that the sound EQs are pre modified to make it sound heavy on bass) HD 25 are recomanded for djs and music producers who are looking for flat and neutral sound for mixing and monitoring. Don't go for it if you are going to just listen to regular music and watch tv shows or movies you are not gonna like the flat sound Buid quality wise they are undistructable light and very durable Their MRP is 18 to 20k but iam glad that I got it for 8500 as part of sennheizer 75th anniversary offer deal although I did not get the 75th anniversary yellow limited edition but it's ok Overall I'll say these are the best headphones you will invest and you ain't gonna regret it trusted for over 75years.

**Q: Truly good for monitoring with a flat response?  In other words, not ideal for consumer music listening?**
A: I'm a DJ and producer and I guarantee it is an excellent headphone, very good for both studio monitoring and also to use in events, its smothering and impecable is a very comfortable phone

**Q: This are the same as the sennheiser hd25-1 ii?**
A: You can go opt the HD-25 or HD-25 Plus to get the same product as the HD-25 1-II with many updates.

**Q: What materials are the ear cushions made of? Are both pairs the same?**
A: I certainly hope they have the velour that you swap on. I love the velour. Yes, for just a few weeks they hurt while breaking in, but only for a very short time when they are brand new. They have a break-in period, so your ears hurt if you have them on for hours when they are new. And then they mould to your ears, and they are the MOST comfortable. For YEARS of heavy, heavy wear. I bought mine in 2011. It is now 2017. And I have accidentally:  sat on them, stepped on them, got them stuck in the metal parts of a recliner chair! They have been accidentally crushed under heavy books, sweat-soaked during exercise, and almost anything else you can probably imagine. Almost every day something dire would happen because I used them for hours and hours and hours. And 6 years is a very long time!! I may get the protective case, because I would have gotten more years from them! These are the best and most durable, and that's not just my opinion. And there is no phony bass. If you want to change that, there are easy ways to get add-on bass. The mid-range is beyond awesome. Anyone who lives and works with music should have a pair of these. And if you treat them more kindly than I did, they will outlive your new puppy! They are STRONG. In every way.

**Q: What's the difference between these and the  sennheiser hd 25-1 ii that these replace?**
A: Newly designed headband ends ensure that the earcups lock securely into place, while lightweight aluminum voice coils ensure an excellent transient response. With a frequency response of 16 to 22,000Hz, an impedance of 70 ohms and a maximum SPL of 120dB, the HD 25 lends itself to any monitoring task, whether broadcasting, live recording or in the DJ booth. The HD 25 comes complete with a screw-on jack adaptor to 1/4" inch (6.3mm) for its straight steel cable.
