Most american microwaves are 1000 or 1100.watts, which heat way hotter. So, that's probably why they don't recommend to us. Should melt or make the plates dangerously hot. Had to research this and that's why not purchasing because need to be able to microwave. **Q: Are these bowls microwave safe?** A: It said in the box that it was. I don’t put them in the microwave. They’re too pretty. I use them in a RV and love them! **Q: Are they seriously $39.99 for plastic plates? 😂** A: Yes, and I would pay double, as they are just lovely.
