It arrived with some assembly required and minimal instructions, however, it was pretty straight forward as far as how to connect the plug-in (I used mine as a hard wire) to the wires in the main component. The only part I wasn't 100% on was how to use the pieces that connect the lighting to the wall, but I just googled "how to install a wall sconce" and I found a Youtube how to with a similar set-up. I would say that I am a beginner when it comes to home projects and on a scale of 1-10 (10 being proficient) in regards to electrical work, I would rate myself as a ZERO.
