Purl is notoriously hard to scrape, but very long lasting and as a bonus isn't as bad for the environment as regular CF or LF waxes. Purl goes on smooth when it hardens, is quite possibly the hardest wax to scrape in existence. However, a quick fiberline aided wax job lasted me 5-6 days of not ideal Midwestern riding. Make sure to get the wax layer as thin as possible before scraping. Do yourself a favor and buy a scraper and scraper sharpener, and Purl will keep your board or skis in shape for less money and longer than traditional hydrocarbon wax. I've been using purl purple for 2-3 years and still have 1/2 a brick left. I normally wax two snowboards 3-4 times a season and a set of skis at least once. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First time "waxer" *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2019* Have been wanting to learn how to do this for a while now. Especially since the whole family is up on the mountain now and a wax and edge/tune at the shops is $20-$30 each. Then throw in a family trip to Colorado coming up.Borrowed a buddies iron and scrapers and bought the 1# block and set to work. After some YouTube and work I ended up doing 3 snowboard and 5 pairs of skis. Like some of the other reviews stated a lot of wax seems to end up on the ground. Which could just be me putting on too much wax in the first place. Even with that I only used a little more than half the block.As far as the performance, worked super well. Temps on the mountain didn't get above 21F and everything worked super well. No sticking or stalling at all. Will definitely use the rest of this block and see how "all temps" goes! ### ⭐⭐ NOT A 1 LB. See photos.15.25 oz. is not 1 lb.How about a little more Truth-in-Advertising...UPDATE:I contacted Purl Wax regarding the shortage, and the following was their explanation:"All our waxes are hand poured by humans which means there will be minor variations in pour weight. While we always aim for the 1lb mark (16 oz), at times they can run slightly less or more (hence the .75 oz difference being within a normal variance range).
