I exfoliated my skin for approximately 3 weeks prior to using the two products so that my skin would readily absorb the cream. It didn't break me out nor did it lighten my skin. This product blended and toned my skin where I was suffering from extremely dark spots from ingrown hairs. And this cream smells heavenly!
