This allows your fingers to fret chords easier than if the fretboard was flat. This curve is the "radius". The saddles on a guitar bridge, therefore, are at different heights (also the radius) to try to match the radius of the fretboard to maintain ease of playing all the way up the fretboard. Basically, the hieght of the saddles on the bridge should match the different heights of the strings along the fretboard. **Q: Will this fit an Aria Ta-40?** A: Not sure but keep in mind that saddles are quite loose so you may want to get something better. I ended up not using it at all... **Q: Will this fit a vintage V100 brand guitar** A: Yes, I expect it fits most generic LP and SG style guitars.
