I laundered it before using and had almost an inch of lint in my dryer filter. It does stretch a little over time. Because of an illness, I had to wash it again fairly quickly. Once again, I had a full lint filter. I buy cotton blankets to use year round and this one fits the bill. A little disappointed to find places in the blanket where the weave was irregular right out of the package. I will be checking after each wash to see if they get worse. The size is wonderful, giving plenty of length to tuck it into the bottom and wide enough to give some overhang on either side. The fabric is as soft as more expensive cotton blankets. The best part, is it doesn't overheat in the summer. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the weave pulls easily (toenails of my large dog cause this).
