So, imagine medium dark whole wheat toast. Much more brown than tan. It is a lighter weight carpet, but very good quality. At first I thought it was to light weight and perhaps even cheap. But after living with it for a while I have to say it laid down very nice (some online carpets never lay down right). It hides dirt amazingly. Overall, I love this carpet and would buy another. So think lighter weigh but very high quality. Nice thing is it is easy to move and does not break your back. I also got 8x10 carpets from Costco that are nice, but shed like a dog with a skin condition and just about take a forklift to move and cost more than the one you are looking at. If you want it a little more cushy, you might consider a pad underneath. I did not, and it is in my dinning room floor, but it is fine for me. Hope this helps. **Q: Is this Bonded?** A: If you're asking if the rug is bordered, yes it is. There is a light tan border around the entire rug that keeps the edges intact. I've attached pictures close up (where it's very obvious) and then a few arms lengths away (you can barely tell). It looks like a solid color walking into the room. I'm so happy. I got the 9x12 and laid it on top of my 8x10 rug to muffle the sound of my highly energetic toddler running back and forth and it's so much better. It's also big enough to go all the way to the wall so it muffles the sounds from all the cars and blocks my toddler usually drops on the hardwood floors. Hoping my downstairs neighbors will be as pleased as I am!The previous rug I got of similar value lost it's plushness and went a bit flat and shaggy after a few months so I will come back and update how it holds up!!!UPDATE: I've had this rug for 7 months now and it has held up well! They also reached out to me right after I placed my order to confirm the size. Buying a rug online is always a bit of a risk. Would I have liked it to be a little more soft and padded? Perhaps, it's not the softest or plushest rug out there, but I do think it's relatively true to its description and is a huge bargain for the cost. It also looks clean and nice. There is very little padding and I used it to cover hard tiled floor in my children's playroom, so I bought a rug pad to go underneath it which helped a lot with the padding (as a side note, the rug pad company advertised that they would cut the pad as well, but they didn't, hence the rug pad sticking out of the bottom of the rug in the photo. I've cut it since). The rug came within 2-3 days of ordering it, MUCH sooner than the estimated date. For our purposes, this is just fine. It comes folded up, exactly like it says in the description. There will be wrinkles for a little bit but they settled out mostly after a couple of days and are not noticeable after a couple of weeks.
