Best way to jog your duct up in the joist cavities. Big box sells 30 guage 4 piece 90 degree. Way too thin. Cheesy. I did some experimenting. I had 26 guage 90 degrees 4 piece elbows to mate up to an odd size duct damper valve. Using two 90 degrees made for a monstrosity. I split the difference to either end of the valve and got more direct air flow. I then spot welded the joints to make them ridged since once you properly seal them with mastic or butyl tape, they're pretty much no longer adjustable. 1st pic shows my first prototype before perfected. It's mounted to a cap I screwed to a board to make the adjustment easier. 2nd picture shows two 90 degrees elbows and the valve at the end of the 6 inch pipe.. Too bulky and didn't move the duct up tight.
