They are tough enough to withstand being twisted into any shape, They have three modes. Steady, long flash and short flash. The latter mode worked really well on my work. The on off button is good quality, better than a switch as in other battery operated lights. They only thing that loses it a star is the buzzing and bleeping the unit makes when operated.
