Really irritating as that's why I bought it** A: same here - I have to go and open the top twice a day to let the water flow through, then tighten it again, it isn't automatic :( **Q: Some people arr saying its a drinker and some also saying a feeder (as in food!). The description is not the greatest and im now unsure what it is???.** A: The red one is a feeder and the blue one is a drinker. I would advise against buying them as the bowl bit the birds drink out of is never full enough for them, and the feeder lets the birds flick the food everywhere. **Q: Does the feeder protect the feed from rain ... that is can it be left outside without a cover.** A: Mostly, yes.
