It works so well to hold the key fob in one hand and depress the button with the cherry pitter!! The spring/tension required to squeeze the pitter is perfect..it doesn't require a lot of pressure and it returns to the open position easily. The metal is durable and strong. Not sure about cherries, but this is a solidly and simply made tool that will last a lot time. I'm so grateful to have found it as a tool to use.
