The button gives eyes-on-the-road audio control without having to wake up the iPod's screen: one click for Play/Pause, two clicks to go to the next track, three clicks to go back to the beginning of the current track. When testing any cable like this, be sure to test it once, then reverse the direction of the cable and test again, because the two plugs are different. This product makes that difference obvious with one straight and one L plug. Negative reviews sometimes come from people who only plugged a cable in the wrong way. In my setup the plug closest to the pushbutton goes into the iPod, which happens to be the most convenient arrangement for using the button. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great!
