A: I gave still not received this, so unable to help. Been waiting weeks. Apparently missing en route

A: no...it just sits on rail....no prep necessary

A: I have this on a cabin bed but my bars are not flat I'm not sure it would to be honest

Bought this for top bunk of grandchildren’s bedroom, but not child tested as yet. Feels very secure and sturdy.  The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is a rim to prevent items accidentally being pushed off. Very happy with this item and found the price very reasonable.
