Review: This is the only toothpaste I am willing to use! - Update: I just ordered a tube of Apagard Premio simply out of curiosity. I'll have it on March 26th. I'll update this review again sometime in the future when I know what I think of it. I discovered Theodent when I learned about the dangers of ingesting fluoride - specifically, synthetic fluoride, which is what's in all fluoride toothpastes and it's what you get at the dentist if you get a fluoride treatment - it's even in your tap water. Synthetic fluoride is toxic. It's basically a poison. I've been using Theodent for 40 days now. I always use it twice each time. What I mean is, I brush with it once and then I rinse thoroughly in order to get rid of everything I just cleaned off my teeth. After that, I brush with it again without rinsing in order to 'apply' it to my teeth (of course, I spit out all the excess). I asked Theodent why they recommend using it this way, and they told me that Theodent is only effective if it can stay on your teeth for at least 30 minutes each time you use it. After 40 days of this, my teeth are no longer sensitive to anything. My enamel has been significantly strengthened! I also love the flavor. It's a mild mint. Perhaps my most favorite thing about this toothpaste though is, it's non-toxic due to not having any fluoride in it. That means it's relatively safe to swallow. If your toothpaste has fluoride in it, then it's toxic; it's not safe to swallow ANY of it. I'm not even sure it's safe for fluoride toothpaste to be sitting in your mouth because I can only imagine it's being absorbed by the flesh in your mouth. Anyway, yeah, Theodent is seriously the only toothpaste that exists for me. I know it's expensive, but it's seriously worth it. I hope one day synthetic fluoride will be completely banned on this entire planet and replaced with the stuff that Theodent calls "Rennou" (pronounced "renew"). That way, we won't have to pay a premium for toothpaste. Of course, the only issue that would remain is making sure to buy toothpaste that has an effective amount of Rennou in it. The amount of Rennou in Theodent Classic and its effectiveness is equivalent to the amount of fluoride in special toothpastes like Fluoridex. One use of Theodent (brush, rinse, brush, spit out excess) is the same as a fluoride treatment at the dentist. This stuff is absolutely fantastic.
Review: Novel concept for healthier teeth - I love this toothpaste. I've used it on and off for about 5 years, and now I'm going to just stick with this. Nothing else gives that slippery clean feeling like you get at the dentist without abrasives. It makes my teeth whiter. One thing to note is that they removed titanium dioxide from the formula, so the latest tube I bought is more clear than white. That's a positive, though!. They've removed an ingredient that has some controversy in personal products, so I appreciate that they are striving to make their product better all the time. It is expensive, but I believe it makes my teeth stronger over time. Taste is not that strong but a faint mint.

A: Just as a head's up the ingredient "Glycerine AKA Glycerol or Glycerin...coats your teeth like plastic wrap blocking your teeth from re-mineralizing or maintaining the proper balance of nutrients. Toothpastes with glycerine 'require 20 rinses to get it off' (Judd, Good Teeth, Birth to Death). A: Active Ingredients: theobromine, calcium acetate and sodium hydrogen phosphate. Inactive Ingredients: purified water, hydrated silica, sorbitol, xylitol, glycerin, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, xanthan gum, titanium dioxide, citric acid, and spearmint oil, sodium benzoate, stevia extract, sodium bicarbonate, and sugar-free vanilla extract.

I hope this helps. it was on the package the toothpaste tube comes in.

A: It's not *certified* gluten-free, but I checked and I am not seeing any ingredients that contain or even *could* contain gluten.

**Q: Is the tube recyclable or reusable? I'm looking for an effective toothpaste with a less wasteful container than conventional toothpaste.**
A: No, I was told by a toms of Maine rep a few years ago that since they went away from metal toons that would crinkle as you sqeezed that none of the plastic ones are recyclable. This is a great toothpaste and better that toms. Using straight baking soda out of a cardboard box is probably the only way recyclable.

This toothpaste has an ingredient that helps you rebuild enamel on your teeth, which erodes with time and acidic foods (like coffee or Coke). What I love most about it though, is that it is not SUPER MINTY like every other toothpaste on the market. It has mint...but just a little. Not burn-your-tongue levels of mint. And if you don't like ANY mint flavor in your toothpaste at all, it comes in a "kid's flavor"--chocolate! (Same great toothpaste.) The only drawback for me is that it doesn't have fluoride, but that's what fluoride rinses are for.
