Everything out there has a black interior and when my son puts in his phone, music player, everything, the items tend to be black so he has to dump out the contents to see where anything is. He also wanted it to double as a travel bag and have a separate space for shoes. It's a nice bag, I haven't unzipped it all the way because I'm afraid that I may never get it back together. My son has used it for the gym and it holds a lot and keeps shoes separate from everything else. It holds it shape pretty much when empty, I think I'd like it to be a bit more stiff. It has a wet section for swim clothing and the bag itself it waterproof. As far as travel, just because it fits the compartment in an airplane doesn't mean the airplane won't make you check them anyway.
