I drank chicory for a while, but it stained my teeth worse than coffee. This drink is fantastic! I make it in my French press and let it steep as the directions say . I was a little put off by how thin it looked at first, but the taste won me over. Then I realized that I was expecting hot chocolate, but I didn't add any milk. THEN I realized it didn't need milk. I just put a little coffee creamer in, and it is delicious. I eliminated caffeine years ago, so I don't miss it anymore. I'm just looking for something that's a full flavored hot drink, and this is it. Five stars all the way!

**Q: What is the difference between the "light" roast and regular or french roast?  Is it like the difference between light chocolate and dark chocolate?**
A: Not really, at least to my taste buds.  The explanation of flavors of the two are really perfectly described in the product description: GHANA FRENCH ROAST: Bold & Roasty Flavor Delicious bold and roasty natural chocolate taste with an earthy flavor. GHANA LIGHT ROAST: Chocolatey & Smooth Flavor Delicious smooth texture and natural chocolate flavor with an earthy flavor.     So, I thought I'd like the French Roast better since I like dark chocolate better and I drink medium to dark coffee roasts.  But I actually like the Light roast just a little bit better because to me it imparts more of a chocolate flavor.  I always mix mine with equal parts coffee grinds when I brew it though.  It's a great mocha flavor when done:)  I use a five cup coffee maker (but fill only up to the 4 mark with water) and use a gold tone filter--one scoop Crio Bru and one scoop coffee.  It comes out fabulously!  Yummmmm!  Hope this was helpful.

**Q: Can it be made with milk instead of water?**
A: It can, if you used a French press and heated the milk. But it works just as well to use water and then add heavy whipping cream or your favorite coffee creamer.

**Q: can this be cold brewed?**
A: Hey there, thanks for reaching out! Cold brewing doesn’t work well because the cocoa butter in the grounds repels cold water and extraction isn’t great. That being said, some of our customers have tinkered and found success.  However, it’s super yummy iced! Brew according to instructions then refrigerate to chill or you can brew at double strength and pour over ice. 👌

**Q: Has anyone tried brewing this in an Aeropress?**
A: I used a french press works great.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Underwhelmed

I bought a mesh filter to use my drip coffee maker to brew this. Followed the instructions and actually added a little more because I like a stronger flavored coffee\cocoa. I tried the Nicaragua first. I'm completely underwhelmed. It tastes like weak hot cocoa. It smells divine while brewing, but a bit disappointing in the cup. My first impression is 'meh.' But I'm going to share it with my dad and brew it in his French press this weekend and see if it does any better. That's the 'meh'. The good is that it is in no way bitter like you expect cacao to be. It is incredibly smooth and, despite the weakness, goes down easy. I feel like this would taste richer for people who like weaker coffee, instead of people like me who prefer trucker sludge. I'll drink what I have as a treat, probably with my parents, but it isn't as exciting of an experience as I hoped it would be.
