My 2009 Macbook Pro finally had it's charger and battery give out. I bought an Amazon battery that works great. Purchased this charger to replace my dead original Apple charger. The only drawback I see is that it does not support hooking up the long cable from the charger to the wall. Besides that, its a functional compact charger that still utilizes the MagSafe power connection and works perfectly with my old Macbook Pro.
