I like that this one is easy to put on as a neck warmer and you can pull up the top if/when needed. My previous Balaclava was very thick and while super warm it was either 100% on or off. This one however is light but does a good job at protecting from the biting winds. The ears have a sort of double layer in that you can pull the bottom face part over the ears then the top hood part can cover the ears again.
