Lifegate became stuck in an actuation cycle that did not stop until the OEM unit's harness was physically removed (would have drained the battery otherwise). Purchased this replacement unit and installed it. It has been at a few months since the installation and it works just like the OEM unit. Very happy with this actuator!UPDATE: I initially gave this 4 or 5 stars...But 10 months later and things have changed. As such, we are left with a mixed bag. The good news is that the locking mechanism still works. The bad news is that it makes a super loud grinding noise each time it actuates. This began about 6 months ago. As such, I cannot recommend this product anymore. It works, but the overall quality is suspect. I am now attempting to contact the seller to inquire about the 1-1-2 year warranty and how to get this issue resolved. I will increase (or decrease) my rating in the near future depending on how well the seller stands behind their product.MOST RECENT UPDATE: I am bringing the rating up one star to four stars. The customer service is FANTASTIC with this vendor. They quickly honored the warranty with no questions asked and they sent me a new one. The communication was also fantastic and they exceeded my expectations with the quick shipment. So now for the bad news...the new one is marginally better than the one I just replaced. The first one worked silently for about 10 months before making grinding noises when opening and closing. This new only makes a grinding noise when closing. This is a self-contained component that just closes a clasp over the ring which is anchored at the bottom of the liftgate opening. There is nothing else that is causing this noise other than the unit itself. As such, I cannot give this product five stars. The factory one is way more expensive, but in this case, you do get what you pay for. If you do not mind the grinding sound, then the mechanism works just fine to open and lock the liftgate. If you want your Mercedes to sound like a Mercedes...look elsewhere. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked perfectly *by G***W on Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2019* After being informed by the dealer that this part was going to be $440, I started looking around for possible alternatives. Fortunately, I found this one on Amazon for HUNDREDS less. What a deal! The part fit and worked perfectly.
