He's only ever worn low cut shoes (no boots), but he had no problems with the height. Very comfy (I can fit them) - have not worn in snow yet as they are for an upcoming trip. Will update if there are any waterproof issues.** overall shoes were great. While they are definitely waterproof, they don't let the foot 'breathe'. After about 8 hours in them, (in rain, snow, and sun) my son had pruned up feet and very obvious signs that they had been moist for a good bit. The inside of the shoe is furlined, in the ball area the ball of the foot area was very damp, but the upper part of the shoe and all other area were dry.
