The case hugs the device well but still has gaps along the side so you're not getting 100% coverage when closed. The case comes in 2 pieces and works perfectly with the surface book's detaching screen. The flaps that cover the fulcrum hinge connect magnetically. Unfortunately, they only connect when the laptop is open. When closed, the 2 flaps can't meet each other. The pen holder is also in an unfortunate space as it fights with the charger and usb-c ports when in use. The pen holder would be better served on the screen portion of the case. The pen will still hold magnetically to the sides of the screen with the case.The case isn't the best but it's far from terrible. A worthwhile purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Manufacturing defect but otherwise good *by L***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2020* Overall, it’s fine, but I didn’t notice until it was too late, but the magnet was sewn in upside down so it doesn’t sit flat when the laptop is in the case. This has the downsides of 1. It pokes the underside of my arm, 2. It makes noise every time I open or close the laptop, and 3. It’s ripping the top surface of the case and in less than three weeks has opened a small hole in the top surface that has been getting bigger. If I had noticed it before I started using it I would have returned it, but I missed out on that. Sucks because a not cheap case will be ripped apart in only a couple of months ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fits well *by Z***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2019* The surface has a unique hinge and the screen can detach from the keyboard. This makes it unusually difficult to create a good cover. This cover fits the laptop well and make it easy to remove the screen from the keyboard.
