- PREPOURED CONVENIENT AGAR PLATES. DON'T WASTE TIME POURING AGAR. The plates are pre-poured MEA agar or malt extract agar. Malt extract agar is a medium for cultivating yeasts, molds, and other fungus. Excellent for student science fair projects
