Does enough to puncture the skin and promote collagen turnover without permanently damaging it. It is really only intended to be used twice a month, however, given the depth that these needles do puncture. Surface area is quite small, which increases the amount of time needed to roll the entire face - especially if you plan on rolling in more than one direction. Additionally, it does not come with the ability to trade out for adjustable heads, so you're stuck with this smaller surface area. There are cheaper derma rollers out there with more versatility if you look around. Can't really complain for the price, however. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, not painful! *by S***W on February 18, 2019* This little roller is so cute, comes in a nice plastic case and truly doesn't hurt at all. It didn't leave noticeable marks on my skin which is what I was really worried about, so I am very happy about that. Specifically, my face broke out in an itchy rash the first time I used it. At first I thought it might be the product I used with the derma roller that made me itchy and rashy, but the next time I used the derma roller, I just used my regular product regimen and still had a horrible rash that lasted a couple days. Had to throw it away. I have never had such an adverse reaction to derma rolling.
