I also suffer from occasional mouth and throat infections during the winter months so this gizmo is another layer of protection/prevention to stop re-infection. The sterilizer is quite small so easy to take on your travels or store in the bathroom cabinet. I was quite surprised how small the UV LED is, my drinking water steripens are relatively big in comparison. My guess is this is new technology, things just keep getting smaller. Initial charge took about four hours and this is supposed to give approximately 50 uses before a re-charge is required which is more than enough for a holiday or business trip. It should charge from a power bank too so I would think it will be fine for use when camping. The instructions say to clean the rubber ‘bladder’ by removing it from the unit. I wouldn’t recommend washing the unit itself because it doesn’t look water tight. So far after a few uses it functions fine but I’ll never know if it’s killing the bacteria on by toothbrush – I’ll have to take the manufacturers word on that. Would I recommend it, yes, if you travel a lot or in my case get mouth infections easily. Bit expensive but worth it for peace of mind.
