This is their encouraging answer! Rarely can you get a reasonably priced item without flame retardants, BPA, PVC and phthalates! The board is still MDF, but maybe it can be sealed to reduce off-gassing or left out of your home for a few days. MDF is always a concern for VOC and formaldehyde emiting.
