Rompox is a brand of jointing materials and the Rompox Easy is one of their most well known jointing compounds. Each tub has 15kg inside which on average is enough to do 7-10m2 of paving. This does depend on a few factors including joint width, joint depth and the amount of joints per/m2. Suitable to use on all concrete and natural stone paving slabs. The original mortar (what was left of it), looked a complete mess. We have Indian sandstone (various colours) and I chose Rompox Easy Basalt as I wanted the mortar to contrast with the colours in the paving. I am very impressed with the result, the dark mortar emphasises the colour and mixed sizes of the paving. After thoroughly wetting the area, I chose to pour this into the gaps with a garden trowel and then pressed it in with a 4” shower squeegee. I wanted it to be compacted into the spaces and the squeegee helped to press the mixture in and avoid air gaps. Plus it gave it a lovely smooth finish. (Yes, I know the videos suggest brushing it in and spraying down to aid compaction – I just wanted to make sure that I really had filled the spaces). I waited an hour and brushed the excess off. After a day it has set rock hard. The reason is there is no way of holding it in place for it to set and it wont really adhere to the wall blocks. Sorry. **Q: Can this be used for re pointing sandstone ?** A: Yes this can be used, it needs a joint width of 5mm or more with a depth of 30mm.
