## Description

Pond Shield is a non-toxic epoxy liner, made in the U.S.A designed for the pond and water feature industry. It is used to waterproof and seal water features or ponds with a more designer, formal or natural look than rubber liners. Using Pond Shield epoxy means no more unsightly folds or creases. In addition, unlike rubber liners, there are eleven Standard colors available - Black, Charcoal Gray, Chocolate Brown, Clear, Competition Blue, Delta Blue, Gray, Moss Green, Sky Blue, Tan and White. Pond Shield is used for waterproofing structured surfaces found in water features such as Koi ponds, pools, fountains, aquariums, salt water tanks, hydroponics, streams, waterfalls, reflecting pools, mini lakes, holding tanks, etc. It is easily applied and easy to maintain and for most applications, a single coat application is all that is needed for proper coverage. In addition, your pond will be virtually maintenance free with a surface that algae can be easily wiped off of and is safe for fish (and other wildlife) and plants. Pond Shield offers both strength and flexibility in a coating in fact, strength and flexibility that is tested from -78 Degree F to 140 Degree F. Pond Shield is an epoxy pond liner that has been specifically designed to bond to porous or abraded materials such as concrete, wood, stone, most metals (treated and non-treated), brick, most ridged plastics, tile and many more. With a tensile bond strength stronger than the internal strength of the concrete, a single coat of Pond Shield epoxy will stick to what you apply it to. Over time, hairline cracks can form in concrete, mortar or grout joints. Being flexible, Pond Shield resists mimic cracking in these areas and provides the best protection possible in a coating.

Review: Great sealer for pond. - This product worked extremely well in sealing up an outdoor pond we have in our yard. It mixed well and sprayed well when using an undercoating spray gun. The product is very thick and does need a special type of gun for application. The finish came out clear and smooth over a river rock base. I was somewhat surprised with how well it did work. I would buy it again if I ever needed to.
Review: Great Stuff - will update during lifetime of product - I am currently using this to seal a 450g plywood tank to be used as a hermit crab environment. Although not water filled, a crabitat of this size will contain roughly 1,500lbs of moist sand, and a target humidity of 80%, so sealing the wood properly is essential. Although I cannot yet comment on the long-term durability of the product, I will update periodically as to its longevity. Mixing: Mixing was very simple. Mix alcohol and Part B in a measured container, then mix that into a measured amount of Part A. I used a touch too much alcohol in the first coat by attempting to eyeball it, as it stayed tacky a long time and seemed quite thin, but did still set up fully after 24hrs. Second coat I mixed a larger batch and got the alcohol more precise and it set up much quicker. The best part was no bad odors and no fumes except the alcohol. Application: Application was easy and relatively quick. The first coat with extra alcohol worked out just fine, since it's being applied to wood and you want a thin coat to soak in and give it some bite for the second layer. I sanded the first coat down, then reapplied with a thicker coat. I got more than a couple slight sags and "legs" from the second coat, but my application technique was sloppy at best and I have no experience with applying epoxies, so I'm not blaming the product for that one. Second coat was smooth as glass and feels very hard to the touch, I'm hoping it's as durable as it looks. I had no issues with the mixture setting up prematurely on either coat. My larger batch was a total of 48oz, I was able to keep applying it for at least half an hour, and used every last drop in the mixing bucket. I was working indoors where it was around 60 degrees and not in direct sunlight. Mess / Clean-up: I was a little concerned because I did get a little slop on the window in my tank, but it peels right off of plastic or glass with just a little persuasion so no worries. I did get a little on my hands, but a little Gojo got most of it, and what I didn't wash off just flaked off in a few hours. Overall, not as messy as I was afraid it might have been. No, you will not be reusing your paint roller cover or paintbrush after using this product. It will not wash out. Buy cheap ones, one per coat you plan to do. The product itself is on the pricey side, you shouldn't be sweating the extra $10 in materials.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beware of working time of mixed product.
*by L***M on June 30, 2025*

Product is mostly as described. Warning on the instructions recommends starting with a cup of mixture. I'd reduce that by at least half for the first trial. I lost about a third of my first batch as it set up in the mixing container. I reduced my following batches considerably and had great luck from that point on. The product doesn't give a long working time, ok when allowed for. Just need to know going in.
