Works well! We trapped seven rats! **Q: Can I use it to catch squirrels?** A: It is big enough but you must get the squirrel out or dealt with soon. I caught one overnight and it destroyed the trigger system internally and would have made it out of the cage within another few hours. This is better suited for rats/mice/voles. **Q: On medium size trap what is the dimension of the squares in the mesh sides?** A: It's about 1/8 inch. Small enough that no animal, not even e shrew can squeeze thru. I caught several mice and shrews with mine. Then something made a hole in the door the size of a golf ball. Don't know if a red squirrel got out ot a weasel got what was in there. But the screen door if ruined. The rats were not harmed in any way and releasing the rats was quick and easy. I'm really pleased with the trap.
