## Description

Add a spicy flair to pizzas, pastas, and sauces with Roland Foods Calabrian Chili Peppers in Vinegar. Grown in the southern tip of Sicily, Calabrian peppers are spicy but not scorching, with a strong aromatic heat and smoky undertones that make them a delicious accent to a variety of hot and cold dishes. Slice the whole peppers to use them as a topping for pizzas and sandwiches, or chop them finely and cook them down with canned tomatoes, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil to create a rich and fiery Arrabbiata sauce. The Italian peppers are packed in vinegar and ready to eat directly from the package, so they can also be used as an easy garnish for pasta plates or a spicy addition to antipasti platters. Since 1934, Roland Foods’ versatile team of veteran chefs, food lovers, and logistics wizards have connected people around the world to explore their culinary passions. Roland Foods imports more than 1,500 products from North America, South America, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

Review: Perfect Balance of Heat and Flavor - These Calabrian chili peppers are absolutely delicious. They have the perfect balance of heat, tanginess, and rich flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy. They’re fantastic on pizza, sandwiches, pasta, burgers, and just about anything that could use a little kick. The peppers are fresh, high quality, and packed with flavor. I’ll definitely be buying these again. Highly recommended.
Review: Repack in oil for a low-cost upgrade and a pepper flavor you will love. - I fell in love with Calabrian peppers when I made a walnut pesto recipe that called for them. The flavor is complex, fruity, and a little bit smoky. The heat sneaks up on you, because it seems to hit your throat before your lips or tongue warn you what is coming, but there is a big load of flavor traveling with the spiciness. What I didn't love was paying almost $9 for less than 7 ounces of peppers in oil at my supermarket. So I tried desertcart. It turned out that prices weren't much better here unless I bought very large quantities. These Roland peppers were easily the best value -- but they were packed in vinegar. I was worried they wouldn't be a suitable replacement for the oil-packed peppers. After reading the comments, I decided to follow the advice to drain the peppers and repack them in oil. After a couple weeks in a cupboard, the peppers were even better than the oil-packed peppers from the market, because I used all olive oil instead of the blend of sunflower and olive oils in the market version. I usually dice them very finely so the heat and flavor are distributed through a dish. A favorite use is in pizza sauce for homemade pizza. A big bonus is the now-flavored oil that let's me easily add Calabrian pepper flavor to any dish that I think will benefit from it. I only have one teaspoon to clean up rather than a knife and cutting board.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: long will these peppers last in oil as other reviewers suggested to and how to storehow them if i drain vinegar and pack in oil?**
A: The batch of peppers I drained and packed in olive oil lasted at least 6 months with no apparent loss of quality. By the time I used the last of the peppers after 9-10 months, they were losing color and getting softer. The peppers were stored in a kitchen cabinet

**Q: Should these be refrigerated?**
A: I used mine to make a chili infused olive oil and I did not refrigerate it. This is what’s left.

**Q: Can this be added to rice ?**
A: Absolutely. You can add these to most anything!

**Q: I noticed that roland calabrian chili peppers have wine vinager! does this mean they have alchol?**
A: No. There is no alcohol. The vinegar preserves the chilis. These chilis are very spicey and small and they have a vinegar taste to them. I used them to spice up some items that I pickled and canned at home and they worked well. A little goes a long way.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Calabrian peppers review
*by E***N on July 11, 2026*

I was surprised at how hot these peppers are. I’ve had other Calabrian peppers and these ones are blazing. Pretty much just packed in vinegar, so I read the review about removing the vinegar and adding olive oil instead. I did that and now they are tolerable and have a different flavor profile that I find much easier to deal with. But wow! Gotta love Calabrian peppers🌶️
