They work very well and are large enough to cover large knicker areas sizes 14-18.I prefer to use these pads than reusable charcoal pads because I am able to clean it properly and it doesn't smell after its been used and hand washed with laundry soap or castile soap liquid. The charcoal pads start to have a mild funky smell after being used and handwashed on a regular basis. The charcoal pads also do not carry moisture well which I think contributes to the mild funky smell of the material in the pads.However, I wouldn't use the cotton pads for menstrual periods because it was a lot of hard work to wash it out of the charcoal pads, and I think the same or more effort (because the cotton pads are lighter in colour ) would be needed to wash blood out of the cotton pads e.g soaking in cold water, rinses, scrubbing etc.The only negative I have about the pads is the price!! It's too expensive but I hope worth it to maintain health in the private area by avoiding using disposable sanitary towels daily which contain chemicals. They are so comfortable to wear, big absorption( I have really heavy flows) and made of organic cotton. All the part that goes on the skin is 95% organic cotton and 5% elastane and only the part that faces the slips has some polyester(30% and 70% organic cotton) to make it waterproof. Compared to most of the mother pads on the market they can be washed up to 90 degrees in the washing machine so a lot more hygienic.
