If a gear or brake lever or handlebar grip is touching the part of the bell that needs to vibrate, it won’t work properly (that’s just physics—the vibration produces the sound). I bought both the large and small luxe to see which worked better on my handlebars, and both produced a beautiful, loud tone, both on and off the handlebar. I ended up keeping the small one because it was just big enough for my hybrid’s handlebars and has a discreet, low profile. The small luxe is demonstrated in this video.Update: I actually ended up keeping the large one (I had thought it was too big for my bars, but I just hadn’t installed the adhesive rubber onto the spacer yet) because the tone has a lower pitch and is a bit louder. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute 100% Garbage! *by R***O on Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2019* I purchase several of these bells for the bikes in my family.... the design is very elegant however make note of the many negative reviews as you will simply waste your money! Withing only days, and, maybe approx twenty rings, two of my bells broke wherein the ringer/hammer internal spring broke causing it to dangle and not make proper contact with the bell. Furthermore, the bell sound randomly becomes silent, perhaps if/when the ringer/hammer doesn't hit just right.... the sound actually becomes muffled and unreliable.Finally, if you like the design several other companies have began selling this type of bell for approx $6.00.... maybe a better choice and certainly less money! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Works great! Just remove the set screw and the bottom part of the bracket swings open. Mount on the bar then replace the set screw. I added a dab of locklite to prevent the set screw from loosening.The bell works great, and has a clear, loud, and pleasant tune! Again, I’m not sure why the other reviewers had such problems or complain that the sound is not loud. I love the low profile design and the minimal space it takes up on my bar.
