I would not buy again due to not having a sheathe to protect and carry it in and the numbers on it are quite small to read for tired old eyes! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Provides accurate ground temperature *by J***Y on November 11, 2024* Using this device, I can accurately see what the ground temperature is of my yard is. it is important NOT to use certain herbicides on grass until the ground temperature is 70 or less for 5 days. This thermometer will help you not to make a mistake in early application of sod herbicide. The 5 days is something I read somewhere and so far has proven a reliable measure. This thermometer is excellent for checking that. I would recommend calibrating it by placing in a glass of ice water and seeing that the thermometer shows 32 degrees, the same as the ice water.
