It stays on quite nice and doesn't fall off at all if you happen to buy the right size and tighten them very well. It took some getting used to but as soon as I took my puggle outside, he forgot he had them on and was able to run and play in them pretty well. The two drawbacks about these shoes is that it is not waterproof and playing in snow or puddles of water will get the shoes wet. Also after less than a week of wear outside,one of the shoe's rubber traction sole that is sewn onto the bottom of the shoe ripped by the seam about a CM. I had to sew it back onto the neoprene upper again. Works fine again. I'm on week 4 of using these shoes everyday and so far no more rips. I look at the functionality and purpose of the shoe and conclude that it is an good investment, however the quality of the shoes could be a bit better if it were made waterproof and if the rubber sole was thicker in the smaller sizes. If the soles could be better attached to the neoprene upper too should be a consideration for the company that makes these paw protectors. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really makes a difference for my dog *by T***I on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2014* I have a dog that I adopted before the winter season and she is a small mixed-breed. I have to walk her as I live in an apartment complex. The first snow storm came and I had to take her out. Within just a few minutes her feet were hurting from the snow and the cold. I ordered this boots thinking they might help her. I was right. She tolerates me putting them on her easily enough...especially since there are treats involved. I don't know that I needed to go up a size as most people had suggested, but they work. She now has traction and protection from the snow, ice, and ice melt and really enjoys our winter walks now. i imagine these would also be good for dogs that go hiking with their humans. The velcro straps are pretty long so I will be cutting them to make them shorter. The foot goes in easy and the straps stay on really well. She does walk a lil funny at first trying to get the feel of them, but once we are outside, she realizes that they help with traction and is off and running! ### ⭐⭐ though the bottoms of the boots were fine. On the positive side *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2014* Not suitable for foot drag. I have a 40 pound dog with neurological problems and he drags his rear paws to some degree. Taking daily walks on paved streets, his nails on his rear paws were worn to the quick and I needed to purchase boots to protect his nails. After my dog's first 45 minute walk with the Woof Hoofs, one of the boots was missing 50% of the rubber coating on the toe area, though the bottoms of the boots were fine. On the positive side, the boots fit perfectly (after measuring his paws and using the sizing chart), they stayed on well, the boots are not too bulky, and he didn't seem to mind wearing them. The Woof Hoofs simply are not sturdy enough for my dog's needs, though they may be suitable for other dog's needs. If your dog has foot drag, I suggest that you order a sturdier boot designed for foot drag.
