It dims and has a timer on the remote. It’s slim and sleek and does not take up space. ### ⭐ Utter Garbage. *by A***M on Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2019* Distinctly dimmer than a 30W halogen. I could not read under this lamp unless it were stuffed almost in my face. To add insult to injury, the controls (they dangle loose on a cable, not attached to the lamp in any firm way) pollute the room with bright blue LED light while it is switched off and you're trying to sleep. When the lamp is on, if you want to adjust the brightness, you are forced to cycle repeatedly through all of the levels while holding down the switch, there are no plus/minus buttons for brightness. As if all of this weren't enough, the thing totters when you so much as brush against it with one hand, there is no substantial weight in the base (it is simply a small cross made of the same lightweight aluminum tube as the rest of the lamp.) This is one of the most disappointing products I have ever purchased on Amazon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome for task lighting *by J***I on Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2019* My wife does a lot of needlework whole relaxing on the sofa in the evening.
